Why the U.S. and NATO MUST save Ukraine
The 2024 election is over. America will hopefully be saved and we must save Ukraine as well!!
Everybody needs to understand that preventing Russia from conquering Ukraine IS in our national
interest – America First! Allowing Russia to conquer Ukraine is “Russia First.” Putin is a war monger and the number one threat to world peace today. He has complete disregard for international law, norms and human rights and will only be stopped by unified economic, political and military pressure. Russia is nothing less than a rogue state. Putin signs agreements and then violates them whenever it’s convenient – Minst 1, Minsk 2 (A) and most importantly, the Budapest Memorandum. (B)(C)

Ukraine can not defeat Russia. There has to be a negotiated end to this war. The U.S. and NATO must give Ukraine more advanced weapons and make Russia pay a higher and higher cost in men and
material until a peace agreement is reached.
Although European countries have given huge amounts of aid and weapons to Ukraine, they don’t have the ability to stand up to Russia. Without U.S. weapons and our nuclear shield, Ukraine will fall.
If the U.S. abandons Ukraine, the repercussions will be world wide. A Russian victory will end the
international order and overall peace we have known since 1945. All the news will be on the millions of refugees and genocide in Ukraine. And the world will hold America responsible for this slaughter. The U.S. will be the world’s pariah nation. Is this what we want? Our most advanced weapons could fall into Russian hands.
Our policy goals in Afghanistan and Iraq failed because the Afghanistan and Iraq armies would not fight. Ukraine IS fighting!! All they need is our weapons!!
Abandoning Ukraine will encourage Putin to attack another country in eastern Europe. Then Americans will start dying and the cost of the war will soar – far more then what we are spending on Ukraine now.
China, Iran, and North Korea will be emboldened to act in this new world order. China could use this opportunity to conquer Taiwan.
We saw a preview of what would happen when House Speaker Johnson unwisely held up critical aid to Ukraine for 6 months. Hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers died because of Johnson. Russia’s capture of the town of Avdiivka on Feb. 2024 was due to a lack of artillery. Ukraine has been on the defensive ever since.
Biden also failed Ukraine by refusing to send more advanced weapons to Ukraine when they would have had a significant impact on the war. HIMARS, tanks, ATACMS, cluster munitions and F-16s were held up while Biden agonized over what to do.
We must recognize that isolationism does NOT bring peace. It brings war. U.S. isolationism in the 1930s helped bring on World War Two. If we abandon Ukraine, would we abandon Israel or an eastern European country? Israel receives about $4 billion annually in aid from the U.S.
We need to continue supplying Ukraine with weapons so they continue destroying thousands of
Russian tanks, Infantry fighting vehicles, and soldiers. Supplying weapons to Ukraine is cost effective, will prevent the war from spreading and prevent World War Three. NATO must develop a ‘first strike’ capability against Russia. Then they will listen to reason.
In FY 2024, the U.S. government spent around $6.75 trillion, with revenue of $4.9 trillion. This
resulted in a budget deficit of over $1.8 trillion. The amount of money spent on Ukraine is a drop in the bucket. We need to cut spending by trillions of dollars throughout the government without sacrificing Ukraine or cutting back on defense.
Post Soviet history
On 26 December, 1991, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) passed legislation that formally dissolved the Soviet Union. Nearly all of the countries Russia had enslaved for decades voted for
independence – Ukraine, Chechnya, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, East Germany, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. 92% of Ukrainians voted for Independence in 1991.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, thousands of nuclear arms were left on Ukrainian soil by Moscow. On 5 December 1994, Ukraine, Russia, the UK and the U.S. signed the Budapest Memorandum, which required Ukraine to return all its nuclear weapons to Russia for disposal in return for ‘promises’ of
protection: “The United States of America, the Russian Federation, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, reaffirm their commitment to Ukraine, in accordance with the principles of the CSCE (Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe] Final Act, to respect the Independence and Sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine.” (B)
After the treaty was signed, the country’s first president, Leonid Kravchuk, grimly remarked: “If tomorrow Russia goes into Crimea, no one will raise an eyebrow.” Recently released archival documents
demonstrate how American officials, adamant about the country’s denuclearization, ignored the
sentiments of Ukraine’s post communist leaders, who were desperate to secure their new country from future Russian imperialism. (C)

Russia took military action against a former country in 1994. On 6 Sep 1991, Chechnya declared
independence from the Soviet Union. Russia attacked Chechnya in Dec. 1994 to force the country back into the Russian federation – but was not able to subdue Chechnya and signed a cease fire on August 1996 and a peace treaty on May 1997. However, this treaty did not resolve the issue of Chechen
independence.
Between 4 and 16 September, 1999, four apartment blocks in four different Russian cities were hit by explosions which resulted in the deaths about 300 people. Russia blamed the explosions on “Chechen terrorists” and used it to justify a full scale invasion of Chechnya. The truth was the bombings were done by Putin’s FSB. The Russian Duma, independent investigators and others attempted to investigate but all were blocked by Putin.
The war lasted until 2005 but sporadic fighting continued until 2009. The Chechen death toll estimated to be between 80,000 to over 100,000 people. Russia committed many attacks on civilian targets and used chemical weapons and fuel-air munitions against civilians and military alike. (C)

In August, 2008, Russia invaded Georgia following a Georgian military operation against a South
Ossetian separatist stronghold. The five-day war resulted in an increased Russian presence in the breakaway Georgian republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which represent roughly one-fifth of Georgian territory. Ukraine sided with Georgia, increasing tensions between Ukraine and Putin. Russia recognized both republics as independent countries, though neither is recognized as an independent state by most of the world.
Putin’s fake reasons for invading Ukraine.
Russia claims they were threatened by NATO expansion. This is NOT true for 4 reasons:
** Putin said multiple times since coming to power in 1999 that he wants to recreate the Soviet empire – and the former Soviet countries believed him. Russia’s claim that they felt threatened by NATO was all a scam. Putin didn’t want these countries to join NATO so they could be conquered one by one without having to fight NATO. (A)

Due to Putin’s destruction of Chechnya, the build up of the Russian military and knowing Putin is a war monger, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia joined NATO in 2004.
** The countries of eastern Europe were anxious to join NATO. They were not manipulated to join. They knew Russia is an imperialist country and always has been. After the first Russian invasion of Chechnya, the countries of Czechia, Hungary and Poland joined NATO on March 12,1999.
** No country in Europe was spending a lot on their military budgets. They had no ability to attack Russia. There was no popular movement in these countries to attack Russia.
** Eastern European countries were NEVER a military threat to Russia. The bulk of their military was left over Soviet weapons from the 1970s and 1980s.
The U.S. Border.
Some say we should use the money sent to Ukraine to secure our own border with Mexico. The disaster at the border is not a money issue, it is a policy issue – an enforcement issue. Trump had the border
secured. Biden destroyed border security. We can fix the border by enforcing existing law and send weapons to Ukraine at the same time.
Demonizing Ukraine
Isolationists want to abandon Ukraine because the country has some flaws. Every flaw Ukraine has is minor compared to Russia. Russia is an absolute dictatorship, assassinates opponents around the world, threatens nuclear war and is a totally corrupt government.
Democracies at war shouldn’t be judged in the same light as countries at peace. During WW2, the US interned 120,000 Japanese believing they were a security threat. In December 1941, the US Government outlawed the German-American Bund – the American Nazi Party.
Zelensky ran on an anti-corruption platform and he has done a good job rooting out corruption. Zelensky is the Winston Church of Ukraine. Everything Ukraine haters accuse Zelensky of doing, Putin has done infinitely worse.
Stop believing Putin’s propaganda!! Putin and some very gullible Americans are spreading a lot of lies about Zelensky and Ukraine. Americans are falling for these lies. Here are some of Putin’s LIES:
** Putin’s LIE: Ukraine is the money laundering capital of the world.
The TRUTH: Ukraine is no longer the money laundering capital of the world. The Council of Europe, which has 46 Member States totaling 700 million citizens has been working with Ukraine to root out corruption and has been largely successful. In August 2020, they reported improvement in two key areas:
1) Improving the criminal law provisions for the offense of terrorism financing;
2) Enhanced sanctions for financial institutions and other entities for non-compliance with AML/CFT legislation.
The positive steps by Ukrainian authorities have prompted MONEYVAL to assign Ukraine higher international compliance ratings in the above mentioned areas; they have been re-rated from “partially compliant” to “largely compliant”.

** Putin’s LIE: Putin accuses Zelensky of attacking the Russia’s Orthodox Church in Ukraine.
The TRUTH: Ukrainian officials are cracking down on the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine because they are a subversive force doing the Kremlin’s bidding.
The head of Russia’s Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, is a vocal supporter of Putin and the invasion of Ukraine. Church pasters who aren’t sufficiently pro Putin were replaced by Kirill. Putin uses the Russian Orthodox church to brainwash citizens into believing Putin is doing God’s will attacking Ukraine. https://time.com/6167332/putin-russian-orthodox-church-war-ukraine/
** Putin’s LIE: Ukrainian first lady Olena Zelensky spent $1,100,000 on Cartier jewelry and got a salesperson fired in the process during a visit to the U.S. with her husband, Ukrainian President Zelensky, in September 2023.
The TRUTH: This accusation is FALSE. The claim in all cases cited is based on a Sept. 30 YouTube video uploaded by user “Marshall Leonard” purporting to show a screen recording of another video from Instagram. That Instagram video came from a user named gorgeous.bb.jeanette, whose account is now private and devoid of public content. The individual in the video describes herself as a recent immigrant from Benin who had weeks earlier landed a job as a sales intern at Cartier’s Fifth Avenue Mansion. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/olena-zelenska-cartier-jewelry/
** Putin’s LIE: Zelensky’s Wife went on a $40K shopping spree in Paris in Dec. 2022.
The TRUTH: In the days following Zelenska’s visit to Paris, several Twitter accounts posted about her supposed shopping trip, assuming the money came from U.S. aid transferred to Ukraine over the past year. Journalist Max Blumenthal tweeted on December 21 that “French social media has been buzzing about a $40,000 Paris shopping spree by Olena Zelenska, the wife of Volodymyr Zelensky.”
None of those tweets cite a source. A screenshot of the article, titled “Zelensky’s Wife Spent $40,000 Shopping in Paris While Demanding US Give Ukraine Money,” appeared on known hoax news site NewsPunch, widely reported to have disseminated misinformation online. NewsPunch, in turn, does not cite sources for the claim other than an embedded tweet by SGM World News.

** PUTIN’S LIE: The claim that Zelensky bought two luxury yachts, named Lucky Me and My Legacy, through proxies for more than $75 million.
The TRUTH: In Dec. 2023, social media users began falsely claiming that Zelensky recently purchased two multimillion-dollar yachts despite the devastating conflict. “Ukrainian President Zelensky uses proxies to hide ownership of two yachts worth $75.000.000,” a post on X, formerly Twitter, states. “This man will go down in history as the person who destroyed his own country for fame and fortune.”
Social media posts carrying the claim cite a Nov. 21 story from The Islander, an online publication, that
reported Zelenskyy “is now ensnared in a scandal involving the alleged purchase of two luxury yachts, ‘Lucky Me’ and ‘My Legacy,’ worth a combined $75 million.” The yachts are still for sale.

** PUTIN’S LIE: Zelensky bought a $20 million mansion in Florida.
The TRUTH: Zelensky did NOT buy a new mansion. This is more Putin propaganda. Lauren Witzke, the 2020 Republican Senate nominee for Delaware, recirculated the claim about Zelensky purchasing a Florida mansion in Dec. 2023 while calling on the U.S. to “CUT OFF UKRAINE” from additional funding for the war against Russia.
According to a fact check from PolitiFact last year, the earliest mention of the claim stems from a post that was made a day before Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022 on the website EPrimeFeed, which only publishes posts from anonymous authors and appears to have ties to the Russian government. PolitiFact concluded the claims were false.

** PUTIN’S LIE: The Ukrainian first lady is strutting around in high end apparel while millions of
Ukrainians struggle to survive.
The TRUTH: A high end Ukrainian Apparel company called Gasanova is essentially using the First Lady as advertising for their apparel throughout Europe. This has helped the company, founded by Elvira Gasanova to grow despite the war wrecking the country. The company brings in tax revenue that is desperately needed.
