PA paid $270 per Megawatt (MW) hour but Virginia and Maryland paid over $444 per MW hour because VA and MD shut down older electricity generation plants and had to buy electricity from PA. Also, VA and MD were in RGGI and paid a high carbon tax. Shapiro’s price cap forced everyone to pay the same. So PA’s rate went UP to $330 MW hour and Virginia and Maryland went DOWN to $330 MW hour. Shapiro and democrats want to pass two new carbon tax programs – PACER (Pennsylvania Climate Emissions Reduction Act) and PRESS (Pennsylvania Reliable Energy Sustainability Standard). PRESS compliance will cost $155 billion, and PACER will cost $2.2 billion. With PACER and PRESS, overall electricity rates would increase by 60 percent and residential electric bills would more than double. By 2035, annual electric costs would rise by $1,754 for households, $5,554 for commercial businesses, and $178,620 for industrial customers.

The winter storm of Jan, 24 to 26, 2026, that stretched from the Midwest to the Northeast strained the power grid to the max, because renewables produced very little electricity. In 2019, former democrat Gov. Tom Wolf admitted that more than 11,000 non-citizens were registered to vote through the DMV. But this was not supposed to happen because it was “fixed” in 2017 by Wolf.
